Overview

The Parts Authority is rapidly expanding and currently has immediate career opportunities for Delivery Drivers in our growing division. Parts Authority, founded in 1973, is a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools/equipment and transmissions, with more than 300 locations nationwide.

Delivery Drivers are company representatives who interact with our clients daily. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness, correct charges, and customer satisfaction.
  • Take and follow directions from dispatch, adhere to routes and time schedules, use navigation apps, and know the area to deliver on time.
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with operations at the customer’s location.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Accept payments, prepare reports (invoices, return forms), and reconcile money collected related to deliveries.
  • Complete daily vehicle maintenance checks when applicable and notify management of issues.
  • Assist in other store/warehouse duties (stock, parts pulling, etc.) as assigned.
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety.
  • Secure and transfer cash or other assets as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current, valid driver’s license
  • Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over)
  • Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds (Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers must be able to lift 75 lbs)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage, track and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances
  • Ability to utilize a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking and customer interface/signature capture
  • Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills; professional, tactful, and diplomatic
  • Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed (preferred)
  • Previous delivery driving experience is a plus
  • You must meet all above requirements to be eligible to drive for Parts Authority
