Job Description

A Restaurant Server interacts with all guests to ensure they have a great dining experience. The role involves ensuring a positive experience from start to finish, exceeding expectations, and resolving any issues promptly.

Job Responsibilities

1. Greet all customers warmly
2. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
3. Prepare dining tables for service and perform side-work tasks
4. Take guest food and beverage orders accurately
5. Know current menu choices, specialties, and deviations
6. Handle table assignments, seating, food and drink suggestions, and communicate customer needs to the kitchen
7. Ensure a memorable dining experience
8. Properly open and pour wine
9. Record revenue and accept payments via cash, credit card, or billing
10. Perform cleaning tasks as directed
11. Assist with special events and other tasks as needed
12. Answer calls professionally
13. Maintain positive relationships with coworkers
14. Bus tables and assist with dish processing
15. Assist kitchen with plating if necessary
16. Clean front of house areas
17. Complete service-related tasks like filling water bottles and rolling silverware

Job Qualifications

1. One year+ food and beverage experience preferred
2. High volume experience
3. Guest relations training
4. Knowledge of food handling and safety
5. Strong communication skills
6. Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, courtesy, and cooperativeness
7. Punctuality and reliable attendance
8. Food safety certification as required by law
9. Experience with POS systems (Toast, Aloha, etc.) and reservation software
10. Physical ability to perform movements and lift up to 25 pounds
