We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing team at our Raeford, NC production plant, where we produce worsted wool dress uniform fabrics for all branches of the U.S. Military dress. This hands-on role involves coordinating production schedules, material allocation, and inventory levels to efficiently meet customer orders. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills to manage complex production schedules across multiple processes and serve as a liaison between manufacturing, division planning, and customer service to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed production schedules across multiple processes to ensure timely completion and balanced operations.
  • Raw Material Purchasing & Allocation: Coordinate planning and manage material allocation to meet production needs, monitoring inventory to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee weekly cycle counts and adjustments to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain up-to-date reports on production status, delays, and inventory levels for manufacturing and customer service.
  • Liaison Role: Act as the primary contact between manufacturing, division planning, and customer service, ensuring clear communication on production and delivery schedules.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with the manufacturing team to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of textile processes such as dyeing, yarn processing, and finishing (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and solve problems effectively.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accurate record-keeping.
  • Hands-on approach to working directly with manufacturing teams on the shop floor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems or other production management software.
  • Background in vertical textile operations or related manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
