Responsibilities

What you will be doing as a PRODUCTION PLANNER:

  • Support production in sales order management, forecast management, customer interface, and work order maintenance.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to meet customer demand using MRP planning parameters.
  • Review and update planning parameters in line with demand changes, capacity, and inventory goals.
  • Revise schedules and issue work orders for order changes, cancellations, or revised forecasts.
  • Determine revised plans when schedules are not met.
  • Notify customer service of failures in meeting shipping schedules.
  • Research late parts and identify bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with engineering and customer service on engineering changes and monitor bill of material issues.
  • Coordinate with Master Scheduling to maintain and execute master plans.
  • Expedite late deliveries from vendors or subcontractors as needed.
  • Analyze production data to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and cut costs.

Qualifications

What it takes to be a PRODUCTION PLANNER AT MEC: Associate/Bachelor's Degree in a related field, one to three years of planning experience, APICS Certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
