Overview

Chart Energy & Chemicals, located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is the leading designer and manufacturer of cryogenic brazed aluminum heat exchangers (BAHX). Our product is used in LNG and other process systems in the energy market. Chart is the only producer of large BAHX in the U.S. and is a leader in global markets. The candidate will define and improve processes and procedures for the manufacture of BAHX, provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for BAHX manufacturing, and provide technical leadership for equipment and improvement projects.

Your Role

  • Evaluate, analyze, and define processes, methods, hardware, and designs to improve the quality and profitability of BAHX.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to assess technology advancements; specify, procure, and implement new equipment to support growth and improvement of BAHX manufacturing.
  • Analyze product defects during manufacturing and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and improve BAHX component quality and performance.
  • Develop training materials and train production workers on specific manufacturing processes.
  • Work with raw material suppliers to identify improvements and address quality issues.
  • Provide BAHX product support to sales and design departments and assist with customer support.
  • Use software such as MS Office, AutoCAD, and MS Project for engineering, financial, scheduling, and reporting tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Science preferred; other engineering degrees will be considered.

Your Experience

  • Two or more years of manufacturing experience, including co-ops or internships.
  • Knowledge of metalworking, machining, bending, forming, cleaning, and assembly.
  • Ability to apply scientific and mathematical methods to statistical analysis, root cause investigation, hypothesis development, and option evaluation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing-related technical documents.
  • Strong communication skills to respond to inquiries and present information to all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing practices, design software, databases, PLCs, and project management techniques.
