The DM Burr Group is hiring: Custodian in West Bloomfield Charter Township

Overview

Position Available: Full Time Custodian - 2nd Shift. Scheduled: Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm in the West Bloomfield School District. Wage: $16.25/hour plus a $1.00/hour bonus for zero absences in a pay period. Totalling up to $17.25/hour for all hours worked. DailyPay service available.

Compensation

• Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $17.00/hr
• $500 Hiring Bonus after 90 Days
• Plus an additional $1.00/hour bonus for zero absences in a pay period for general custodians
• Totalling up to $17.25/hour for all hours worked

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning of furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to access areas for cleaning.
• Clean/stock all restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.
