Overview
The EQS Forklift Operator completes material movement through moving, loading, and unloading of assets using a wide variety of material handling equipment at a proficient level such as forklift and pallet jack.
Location, Pay, and Schedule
Locations: Annapolis
Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.18, depending on experience
Rate Frequency: Hourly
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
- Pull specific vending and cold drink equipment to fulfill sales request needs
- Utilize a “switcher” to maneuver 53’ and pup trailers to the dock as needed
- Prepare equipment for shipping by protective wrapping as needed
- Load and unload trailers; use SAP/CONA handhelds to ensure accurate accountability for inbound/outbound loads to/from territories supported by Regional Operation Center; follow CCCI SOPs
- Ensure outbound loads are secured with proper documentation (STO)
- Safety/Housekeeping: perform pre-trips and post-trips daily documentation; keep work area neat and clutter-free
- Perform miscellaneous activities as directed, including equipment staging and yard maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Understanding of basic safety principles and proper use of PPE; advanced forklift skills (single-wide)
- Ability to operate forklifts in small areas safely and efficiently
- Pallet-jack skills
- Rudimentary mechanical skills; operate multiple pieces of simple machinery; basic tool usage
- Read and follow written SOPs or instructions
- Complete forms (handwritten and/or computer-based) to document activities
- Intermediate math skills; strong productivity awareness
- Ability to assess order building and loading workflows; optimize pick/load paths
- Ability to manage multiple processes to support system efficiency
- Accurate count and verification of received items against manifests; accurate loading of trucks following documentation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, noisy conditions, slippery surfaces, and broken glass
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; sitting for long periods; frequent getting on/off forklifts; opening/closing dock doors
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift and pallet jack certification
- Switcher operation certification
- Class A CDL where required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics environment
- Understanding of truck/trailer loading strategies and weight distribution principles
Work Environment
Noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment including high and low temperatures.
