Responsibilities include:

• Material handling and sorting, including pushing, pulling, lifting, and filling hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts.
• Unpacking boxes and separating packaging materials.
• Disassembling small equipment, cutting wires, and removing bolts and parts from automobiles and appliances.
• Operating recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers.
• Directing yard vehicle traffic.
• Performing light facility maintenance like painting and moving furniture.
• Assisting machinery repair through proper tool use and parts installation.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Participating in landscaping and waste disposal tasks.
• Ensuring safety and hygiene through effective housekeeping.

Qualifications include:

• Passing a medical physical and drug test.
• Background check clearance.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus.
• Effective communication, basic math skills, and willingness to learn metal sorting and equipment maintenance.

Job expectations: Compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations; physical ability to work outdoors in a scrap yard; and use of yard equipment and PPE.
