Overview

Forklift Operator - 3rd Shift at Lassonde Pappas & Company, Inc. (Sun-Rype Products USA, Inc. subsidiary). Shift: 3rd - 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Position Summary

Operate forklift to assist in the processing of fruit.

Responsibilities

• Load and offload trucks, sort bins, and stage for production.
• Document arriving and departing trucks or loads.
• Move incoming materials to the proper location or storage area.
• Label and prepare loads for shipment.
• Conduct inventory on fruit product and plant supplies.
• Introduce raw material into the process and orderly disposition of empty fruit bins.
• Maintain a safe and courteous driving attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.

Backup

Backup for Forklift Driver would be another qualified Forklift Driver from the same shift or different shifts to cover the 8-hour shift.

Job Requirements

Role in Food Safety

Follow plant GMPs at all times, ensure work area is secure and monitor and document fruit receiving CCP.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to turn head to look right/left as well as up and down.
• Ability to steer using a steering wheel.
• Ability to move right arm/hand forward and backwards to move the gear that moves forks up and down.
• Ability to apply pressure on gas and brake pedals using right and left legs/feet.
• Ability to get on and off the forklift several times per day (fueling, paperwork).
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Non-Physical Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: Minimum one year experience in the fruit industry preferred; experience with forklifts and bin dumpers preferred.
• Special Skills: Ability to high stack bins; good communication skills; ability to work any shift; demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement; personally invested in the success of the business; motivated, focused, and accountable for results.
• Licensure/Certification: Forklift Driver Training
