Overview

The role involves operating forklift equipment, setting up the debone area, and transporting finished product. Employees must use and maintain personal protective equipment and work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Set up the debone area with coolant and tubs, and transport combos as needed.
• Transport finished product to the scales and the manifest area.
• Move product to be reworked.
• Maintain forklift in a sanitary manner and replace battery when needed.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math skills.

Technical Skills Requirements

• Forklift certified.

Safety Requirements

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements.
• Wear required PPE; PPE includes items such as hairnet, smock, earplugs (may change).

Physical Requirements

• Stand up to 8 hours; lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to heat and wet/dusty environments.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
• Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.).
• Work around raw, live animal odors; ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC).
• Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift; work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels) and exposure to CO2 and moving production.
