S&ME is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector with their Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification to join our non-destructive testing and evaluations (NDT/NDE) team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

About The Role:

As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and integrity of our complex construction projects related to welding, bolt, and steel connections by performing non-destructive testing. The role is ideal for experienced inspectors ready to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

• Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods to uphold quality standards. A significant portion of field inspection time involves performing NDT duties such as ultrasonic inspection (UT) of welds and magnetic particle testing (MT).
• Project Testing Assignments: Manage testing assignments across multiple projects, contributing to their success.
• Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain testing equipment, manage inventories, keep calibration records, and participate in quality audits.
• Report Creation: Write detailed reports to communicate findings effectively.

What We're Looking For:

• A High School Diploma/GED
• At least 3 years of metals testing experience or an associate degree
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• Achievement of ASNT Level II certification in at least one method
• Safety, DDC, NDT, and/or Radiation Training
• Experience using fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems

Are You Willing and Able to:

• Perform physical tasks with PPE, including working outdoors in varying weather, climbing heights over 200 feet, walking on rough terrain, standing for long hours, and lifting 40-50 lbs.
• Handle field equipment safely around active construction sites
