What You'll Do

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Specialty Technician III to join our Dallas team and advance in a dynamic work environment. You'll work on a variety of complex projects performing field observations and inspections, and may also work with steel performing destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) or non-destructive examination (NDE).

Responsibilities

• Perform observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel; execute tasks under supervision; inspections may also occur in fabrication facilities or on mechanical piping systems and pressure vessels.
• Conduct routine observations of structural and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections, using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards; testing may include GPR surveys, material verification, and corrosion surveys.
• Perform calculations, data reduction, and administrative duties; maintain organization of field equipment; notify supervisors of equipment issues.
• Maintain communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; attend meetings; share test results and technical advice.
• Receive training in ECS methodologies; document findings accurately; mentor junior technicians.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience
• High School diploma or GED
• ASNT NDT Level II certification(s) and at least 2 additional industry certifications (e.g., NRC, NICET, WACEL, ACI, IFC, AWS, ASTM); pursuing or able to obtain maximal certifications
• Ability to carry 40-70 lbs multiple times daily; occasionally lift 85 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and insurance; transportation for job sites
• Strong communication skills; proficiency with electronic devices; high-level reading of engineering plans; basic MS Office knowledge
• For NDE focus: ability to calibrate NDE equipment
