Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the CTE Welding subject area to help them fulfill their potential for growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or high school diploma/GED and equivalent wage-earning experience as required by certification
- Valid Texas career and technical education certificate with required license, endorsements, and training for subject and level assigned
- Any agriculture certificate
- Any Technology Education, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Arts certificate
- Trade and Industrial Education – Grades 8-12 with appropriate work approval (http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index2.aspx?id=5319)
- Vocational Trades and Industry with appropriate work approval
- AWS Certification preferred
- Demonstrated competency in the career and technical education subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of career and technical education subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Ability to oversee student field experiences in career area assigned
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Terms Of Employment
Probationary/Term Contract: 193 days
Salary: Pay Grade T60 (Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees
Essential Functions
- Attendance: Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function
- Instructional Strategies: Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum; accommodate differences among students
- Instructional Planning: Use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology; reflect TEA guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations
- Assessment: Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan activities
- IEP Collaboration: Work with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with IEPs
- Collaboration: Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods
- Student Growth and Development: Conduct ongoing assessment; may sponsor approved extracurricular activities; model a positive role for students

- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to the occupational area assigned
