Brief Description

The Youth Sports Coach is responsible for teaching and supervising youth development classes of up to 15 students per class. The coach reports directly to the Youth Development Director and Youth Program Director. The coach is the primary point of contact for students and parents, expected to deliver excellent customer service, orient new students and parents, and have detailed knowledge of the facility and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Set up and take down instructional equipment before and after each class.
2. Supervise children and ensure the playing/performance area is safe for all participants.
3. Work irregular shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
4. Maintain current qualifications in accordance with program standards.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth Development Director, Youth Program Director, or General Manager.

Requirements

• Desire to work with children aged 18 months to 13 years.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• High energy and enthusiasm throughout all classes.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, preferably with target age groups.
• Strong time-management skills to meet class goals.
• Commitment to work consistent hours for 10-13 consecutive weeks.

Qualifications

Experience working with groups of children is highly desirable. No formal education required. Ability to communicate in English; other languages a plus. Proficiency with Windows-based computers and web-based instructional materials.
