Description

Employment at Exeter Job Corps is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, professional reference check and motor vehicle record check. The Recreation Advisor is responsible for providing students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program and promoting health and wellness through overseeing recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

Schedule

Saturday-Sunday 10am-7pm / Monday 1pm-10pm / Tuesday-Wednesday 2pm-11pm / Thursday-Friday OFF

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program
• Coordinate recreation activities with Career Preparation Period and Social Development staff, including evening programming
• Coordinate recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources
• Ensure safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines
• Document student participation and accountability during recreation activities
• Maintain inventory of equipment and materials; recommend purchases as needed
• Oversee the overall appearance, condition, and organization of the recreation department facilities
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate of Arts Degree preferred
• 1 year related experience working with youth
• Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s License and meet insurability requirements (frequent student transport)
• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling/pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching
• Demonstrates ability to lift 40 pounds or assess load to request assistance as needed
