Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) role at Moffitt Cancer Center on the 5th Floor Medical Surgical Unit at the New McKinley Hospital Campus. This 32-bed unit provides post-op care to Head & Neck, Neuro and GU patients, and also care to complex medical oncology patients and chemotherapy infusion.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families. Integrates patient- and family-centered care and the quality caring factors into practice.
• Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on the learning needs of the patient.
• Participates in evidence-based improvement activities related to area of practice.
• Participates in professional development based on the nursing professional’s standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations.

The Ideal Candidate

• 1 year of inpatient hospital experience
• Medical-Surgical experience as a registered nurse
• Experience with Head and Neck Cancers, GU, and post-op surgery patients

Credentials And Qualifications

• BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience.
• BCLS Certification
• Florida License
