Overview
Utility Operator - Night Shift at ITW Medical is a night shift position (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) on a permanent rotating schedule: 3 nights on the first week, 4 nights on the following week. It is a “floater” role capable of assembly line work, plastic injection molding machine operation, and forklift operation, assigned as needed each night. Forklift experience is required. The role pays $16/hr + $2/hr night shift premium, for a total of $18/hr.

Responsibilities
- General Accountability/Support: Serve as a member of ITW Medical responsible for the quality and production of the machines for distribution to customers.
- Ensure that every machine operates according to all Manufacturing Instructions and Operating Procedures.
- Promote courtesy and helpfulness among all team members.
- Become fully trained in all areas of machine operation per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow all ITW Medical rules and regulations.
- Perform end-of-day cleanup duties and any other required housekeeping.
- Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct initial inspection of manufactured parts for defects and escalate issues as required. Record shift activities on job activity sheets, break sheets, etc. Communicate with the shift lead and QC inspectors. Replenish raw materials. Report machine issues to technicians. Perform minor troubleshooting. Some knowledge or experience in injection molding, assembly and/or hybrid machine operation processes.
Qualifications / Skills
Educational Level
- 1-3 years experience
Comprehension / Reasoning Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications for the work performed.
Math Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Three years’ experience operating and maintaining automation equipment.
- Experience with vision inspection equipment preferred.
- Experience with 6-axis robots preferred.
- Experience with pneumatic systems preferred.
- Requires corrected eyesight of 20/20 for visual quality inspections of parts.
- Basic computer skills – data entry, common searches, proficient use of Microsoft Suite, and other software packages specific to the business.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Some physical movement around machine areas; operator stands for 90% of the work shift.
- Stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; comfortable with frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crawling; talk or hear.
- Frequently lift and move 10–50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
