Qualifications

Required:

• BSN required
• Five years hospital experience
• Two years teaching related activities
• Registered Nurse with current license required
• AHA BLS required

Preferred:

• MSN preferred
• Certified in professional development or sub-specialty preferred

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates an ability to express self effectively in all areas of communication verbal, non-verbal, written; utilizes effective listening and questioning techniques along with appropriate communication methods
• Develops continuing education programs to meet the needs of Community Medical Center employees
• Disseminates information to hospital departments and the community related to education/training programs offered by Community Medical Center
• Evaluates all continuing education/training programs; adapts programs as necessary as a result of feedback; utilizes accepted evaluation of all educational programs
• Evaluates effective teaching skills through appropriate instruction methodologies; communicates principles of adult education and applies adult learning theory when conducting programs
• Insures the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs to meet JCAHO recommendation and State Health Department requirements on an annual basis
• Regularly encourages personnel to grow professionally by pursuing educational opportunities both inside and outside the institution
• Updates and revises programs such as orientation, skill training, and continuing education as needed, in accordance with education standards and hospital policy and procedure
