Metric Engineering is hiring: RTMC Operator - Night Shift in Sanford

Overview

RTMC Operator - Night Shift at Metric Engineering is a full-time/part-time role in the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC). The RTMC utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices such as cameras and dynamic message signs to monitor roadways and provide traveler information in the greater Central Florida area. The RTMC Operator coordinates with partnering agencies to expedite response to incidents and promote quick clearance. The TMC dispatches Road Rangers and works with cutting edge technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, express lanes and more. Operators monitor and manage the roads using customized software for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Responsibilities

• Monitor ITS devices (cameras and dynamic message signs) to observe roadways and provide traveler information.


• Coordinate with partnering agencies to expedite incident response and promote quick clearance.


• Dispatch Road Rangers and work with technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, and express lanes.


• Monitor and manage roads using customized software for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Qualifications / Requirements

• Must be able to work various shifts on weekdays and weekends as operations are 24/7.


• Full-time applicants must be able to work 8-12 hour shifts, up to 40 hours per week and be eligible for benefits.


• Proficient computer skills are required.


• Ability to work in a team, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.


• Excellent communication skills.


• Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check.


• Dispatch and customer service and first responder experience is a plus.
