Job Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Responsibilities
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies; places and expedites orders; verifies receipt.
- Performs general electronic inspections, diagnosis, repairs and replacements autonomously.
- Minimizes downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Performs failure analysis, identifies root causes, and implements actions to prevent recurrence.
- Performs electrical and electronic activities such as low voltage panel repairs, PLC programs loading, and DC/AC engine speed control.
- Detects abnormalities on sensors, actuators or variable speed drives.
- Updates maintenance information in systems and prepares maintenance reports.
- Trains and participates in electrical, electronic, automation and electromechanical troubleshooting on industrial equipment, overhead cranes, and building electrical installations (600 VAC and below).
- Performs electrical installations using EMT, rigid, and liquid-tight conduits; installs wireways, disconnects, junction boxes; runs wires and network cables according to NEC.
- Coordinates preventive maintenance plans and schedules with production supervisors; participates in developing preventive maintenance procedures.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as an industrial electrician, particularly with low voltage controls and 3-phase systems in an industrial setting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with PLCs and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and CAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to travel when needed.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays if necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, using tools, and performing repetitive actions requiring bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Schedules
- Night Shift – Start Time: 6:00pm to 6:00am
- Wednesday to Saturday
- Sunday to Tuesday: per supervisor request
