Job Description

Position Overview: Primary duties include supervising first shift operations of batching, pelleting, receiving, and delivery of livestock feed, along with safety and documentation. Additional duties include loading/unloading trucks, customer service, housekeeping, equipment and warehouse maintenance, forklift operation, grain handling, and other feed production tasks. The supervisor will provide daily shift updates to the Mill Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work independently and efficiently without supervision.
• Assist mill employees with operations, training, and development.
• Operate scales for inbound and outbound trucks.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and housekeeping.
• Understand feed ingredients, handling, and storage techniques.
• Distribute feed onto trucks, minimizing shrink.
• Maintain interest and aptitude in mill and truck mechanics.
• Operate equipment safely and according to maintenance schedules.
• Use analytical techniques for problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making.
• Maintain high attention to detail and formula accuracy.
• Be driven, organized, punctual, and a self-starter.
• Possess team orientation and leadership skills.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and safety rules.
• Complete necessary paperwork, documentation, and records daily.
• Assist with other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

• BS in Agriculture or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, WEM, and FMM.
• Agriculture background is a plus.
• Pass drug screen and background check.
• Commitment to safe working conditions; CDL operation required.
• Willingness to work well with others, accept and give constructive criticism, and supervise first shift operators and drivers.
• Ability to work independently and make operational decisions.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and productivity.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach; lifting required.
• Work in dusty, sometimes cold, hot, and humid environments.

Education and Experience

• BS in Agriculture or equivalent, or prior relevant work experience.
