About the role:

The Lead Manufacturing Technician is responsible for executing all processes in production while adhering to cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines, and any other related regulations. You will participate in departmental projects and quality working teams. Under the direction of the supervisor, you will perform hands-on activities in the production area, revise and/or rewrite procedures as needed, and assist during the transfer of new technologies into manufacturing. The position requires technical and administrative competence to organize and lead production activities and to demonstrate leadership in cGMP compliance and safety.

This position works the night shift from 5:00pm to 5:30am on a 2-2-3 rotating shift.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead training efforts and mentoring for manufacturing technician progression from level 1 to 3
  • Conduct safety Gemba walks and provide coaching to ensure proper ergonomic techniques
  • Support all local manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronic systems such as EBM, JDE, etc.
  • Operate general production equipment (filling, inspection, packaging)
  • Ensure relevant paperwork follows GDP/GMP guidelines
  • Manually clean portable equipment and small parts
  • Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams
  • Receive and distribute supplies into the production area
  • Monitor daily cleaning of the production area to maintain GMP standards
  • Assemble and operate filtration systems
  • Prepare and set up components for manufacturing to meet schedule adherence
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment problems to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with maintenance/metrology to ensure preventative maintenance is performed as planned
  • May perform other duties as assigned

What you bring to Takeda:

  • High school diploma or GED; 6+ years of experience or AA or higher with 4+ years related work experience
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and follow detailed written and oral instructions in English
  • Experience with pharmaceutical production equipment including autoclave
  • Ability to apply quantitative analysis to analyze process performance

Important Considerations

  • Work a combination of sedentary tasks and site-wide observation
  • Lift up to 30 lbs, push/pull up to 30 lbs with assistive equipment
  • Stand and/or walk for extended periods on an 8- to 12-hour shift
  • Perform bending, twisting, overhead reaching, and squatting as required
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Have 20/20 vision (with or without corrective lenses) for roles involving visual inspection
  • Work in environments with exposure to loud noises requiring hearing protection
  • Work around moving equipment and machinery
  • Follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing in manufacturing areas
  • May work in confined spaces and controlled environments requiring safety gear
  • Some roles may involve clean room or cooled/hot storage conditions
  • May be exposed to cephalosporin for product touch roles only
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and Celite with respiratory protection as needed

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $27.60 - $43.37

The estimated range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
