Job Summary

Packages powder, pre-weigh ingredients into smaller batches with precision and cleanliness, and seals bags.

Essential Functions

• Hand stack packages on pallets
• Check/weigh packages
• Apply labels to packages
• Operate forklift and stack pallets safely and efficiently
• Operate and clean shrink wrapper
• Operate and clean metal detector
• Clean remaining packaging equipment
• Assist in restacking and re-bagging powder as necessary
• Operate and clean dust collection system
• Operate and clean commercially sized vacuum
• Operate, calibrate, and clean scales in packaging and pre-weigh rooms
• Operate J-truck safely and efficiently
• Validate and clean magnet
• Pre-weigh ingredients into smaller batches with precision
• Vacuum pallets and bags thoroughly
• Operate super sack un-loader
• Accurately select bags and pallets to be dumped
• Break bags safely and ensure all product is dumped
• Use utility tools safely for the appropriate task
• Clean bag break, super sack un-loader, pneumatic convey lines, blender, hoppers and other equipment as needed
• Operate equipment manually and by the HMI
• Complete master sanitation in all processing areas and document accordingly
• Fill out logs and paperwork legibly
• Help maintain a safe work environment
• Participate in continuous improvement teams
• Comply with Occupational Safety and Health standards and all applicable safety regulations
• Comply with food safety regulations (Safe Quality Foods, FDA, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Training
High School Diploma or GED and/or related experience

Experience Required
Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with GMPs
• Familiarity with computers and basic typing

Typical Physical Activity and Environmental Conditions

• Physical Demands: Frequent lifting and handling; ability to lift 26-60 lbs; normal vision requirements; exposure to typical manufacturing environments with hearing protection as needed.
