Base pay range
$41,350.00/yr - $52,717.00/yr
Job Summary
The EVS Lead is responsible for providing supervision and guidance to staff to ensure that high levels of cleanliness, quality, and service are always achieved and maintained. Assist with state compliance relating to cleaning processes, waste removal, and infection control practices. The number of environmental service employees supervised will vary. This position will provide floor supervision and assure appropriate staffing levels. Responsible for reporting all pertinent information to the Departmental leadership and performs staff work as needed.
Essential Functions
- Lead and oversee the Environmental Services staff. Work closely with the supervisor and/or manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels for regular environmental services needs and special projects. Coordinate with the department manager on daily work schedules, reassign staff during shortages to ensure proper coverage. Lead, direct and train environmental services staff and new employees on Environmental Services equipment. Ensure adherence to the new employee retention program. Assist with employee training and retraining. Ensure disciplinary problems are documented and brought to the attention of the department manager for appropriate action.
- Maintain high quality appearance in assigned areas. Ensure that all areas are cleaned according to acceptable standards. Ensure appropriate levels of chemicals and supplies are on hand, properly stored, and efficiently used; place orders when required. Ensure cleaning equipment is kept in good working condition and report all equipment issues to the department manager.
- Perform all other duties as assigned for staffing shortages or other needs.
- Allocate resources; supplies, labor, and services to meet and be in line with fiscal departmental budgetary guidelines, weekly, monthly, and annually in the absence of the supervisor.
- Maintain and form relationships with key personnel. Communicate regularly with key personnel and develop good professional relationships. Respond to requests and concerns and provide follow-up action. Participate in required joint inspections with key personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- Other Basic College Courses OR - Preferred
- Vocational/Specialized training Post High School - Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED (in process) - Required
Experience
- 1 year Environmental Service experience - Required
- 1 year Leadership experience - Preferred
- 2 years Healthcare experience - Preferred
- 2 years job related duty - Preferred
- 2 years supervision - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver License: Current and valid Arizona driver's license - Required
- Must be at least 21 years of age - Required
