The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex located beside I-95 in Dumfries, Virginia. It includes a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, event space, 50,000+ square feet of space, 1,650+ historical horse racing machines, and over 80 acres of green space. The resort generates significant tax revenues and employs over 500 team members.

Job Summary

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the enterprise’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists Housekeeping Manager in leading all housekeeping operations. Monitors and evaluates daily departmental activities to ensure effective day-to-day management.
  • Collaborates with other hotel departments to ensure seamless customer service and quality performance. Assists with assignment and distribution of room duties.
  • Coordinates scheduling and completion of deep cleaning and related projects. Ensures timely and efficient guest room turnover as defined by service standards.
  • Adheres to hotel and enterprise brand standards.
  • Maintains health and safety policies, ensuring team members meet standards of safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. Ensures certifications remain current.
  • Inspects hotel areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Manages chemicals and cleaning supplies usage, ensures proper labeling of hazardous materials, and ensures equipment is maintained and used properly.
  • Ensures essential equipment, parts, and chemicals are on hand and properly labeled according to SDS; ensures safe working condition.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, stockrooms, and carts.
  • Performs daily inspections to uphold Forbes Travel Guide standards across corridors, closets and rooms (including suites and VIP rooms).
  • Performs routine inspections of check-out and occupied rooms and releases rooms in system as ready for occupancy.
  • Completes daily inspections for Team Members with minimum checks per section and tracks performance.
  • Oversees Housekeeping sections, monitors status, and ensures issue resolution.
  • Leads and motivates the team, fosters collaboration, and supports professional development.
  • Provides guidance and training to achieve performance standards.
  • Coordinates with Facilities Department for repairs in guest rooms and public areas; follows up on maintenance requests.

Assists with departmental improvements to enhance overall Department performance.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and productivity expectations.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize issues; professional and discreet communication.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Virginia Racing Commission License
  • Valid Driver’s License with at least three years driving experience
