Work Shift: 8hr-3rd Shift (United States of America)

The Machine Operator will operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. Role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. The Machine Operator is also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies
  • Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to work schedule
  • Works with others in a One Team Cross Functional attitude
  • Embraces and participates in continuous improvement processes to drive change within the plant
  • Adheres to company General Manufacturing Policies
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations
  • Keeps the work area clean, organized, and uncluttered
  • Introduction to preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin and other mechanical changes
  • Operates blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines to produce quality bottles
  • Adheres to quality control and blow mold process procedures
  • Introduction to troubleshooting and resolving process problems
  • Performs bottle inspections and quality checks including drop tests for designated lines
  • Inspects quality during production, packaging and labeling
  • Performs audits, weights and quality checks; machines may vary by site
  • Makes adjustments to meet product specifications
  • Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on blow-mold and support equipment
  • Immediately escalates bottle abnormalities, defects and quality issues
  • Monitors supply levels of packaging materials and replenishes as needed
  • Handles bottles (drops, bins) and options for grinders as necessary
  • Ensures correct labeling, bottle descriptions and packaging per customer requirements
  • Moves finished goods to designated area
  • Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies
  • Prepares maintenance request forms and documents equipment repairs
  • Receives instructions from Lead Operator or Supervisor and applies professional judgment; unusual problems are escalated for guidance
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Duties may differ by plant based on equipment and design
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs

Qualifications

Experience

  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Basic computer experience
  • Blow mold experience

Education

  • Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Training

  • Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training within 90 days of hire date

Work Environment

In a production environment with moving mechanical parts. Noise levels are usually loud. Plant temperatures may fluctuate. PPE is required in the production department and designated areas.
