Job Description: OGS Machining is a CNC Job Shop seeking a full-time Quality Inspector for 3rd Shift. Standard shop hours are 4 ten-hour days, Mon-Thurs, 7:30PM-6:00am, with occasional overtime on Fridays as needed.
OGS Machining is a medium-volume, production job shop with an average machining order of 100-500 pieces. 75% of our jobs are made from bar stock, and the remaining 25% involve machining castings or billet. All parts can easily be held in your hand, with no cranes or material handling equipment necessary. Our CNC turning equipment is less than 4 years old and state-of-the-art.
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure customer satisfaction through compliance with internal and external customer-imposed quality control requirements.
Essential Duties
- Understand and follow OGS quality system requirements.
- Review and understand customer requirements.
- Provide documentation and results during Receiving, Layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
- Document SPC as needed to support quality efforts.
- Follow Inspection Plan Documents (IPDs) to make quality decisions in accordance with customer requirements and OGS procedures.
- Use approved gauging and measurement techniques.
- Properly use inspection equipment, product inspection techniques, system software, and follow established OGS quality system procedures and work instructions.
- Perform calibration activities and maintain the calibration system as required.
Equipment Used
- A wide variety of mechanical inspection-type measuring equipment, including dial/digital micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMM, optical comparator, and hardness instruments.
Skill Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required, with a minimum of 5 years of Quality Control/Assurance Inspection experience. Proficiency in operating manual CMM and Optical Comparator is helpful.
- Basic understanding of precision machining operations (milling and turning machines), drawing interpretation including GD&T, and knowledge of non-destructive and destructive testing and measuring techniques. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949 applications and requirements is necessary.
