Equipment Operator, Onsert - 3rd Shift at Thermo Fisher Scientific

Location: Bohemia, NY (Clinical Labeling Services, part of the Clinical Trials Division). This role supports the production of clinical trial study labels and related processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Base pay and schedule

Base pay range: $24.00/hr - $26.00/hr. Work Schedule: Third Shift (Nights), 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment used in the production of clinical trial study labels, following client-approved proofs and established specifications.
• Set up computerized production runs and manage bulk transfer labels using the proprietary CLPS software, adhering to department SOPs and WIs.
• Monitor label production processes for accuracy and completeness while applying current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and safety guidelines.
• Plan, set up, and manufacture a wide array of label constructions that meet client specifications; ensure equipment is maintained per procedures and safety guidelines, including preventive maintenance and daily cleaning.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting, or related field.
• Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Technical: Printing or manufacturing experience; proficiency in data transfer, MS Excel and Outlook, and file management.
• Mechanical: Ability to read measurements, troubleshoot issues, and operate computerized digital inkjet equipment; capable of performing roll splicing with manual equipment.
• Detail-oriented with organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information and communicate professionally with internal customers.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds (unassisted).
• Use PPE as required; exposure to loud noises, chemical odors, and hazardous/toxic materials; wear safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear protection; work in various outside weather conditions and warehouse settings.
