SHIFT HOURS: 12 PM - 7 AM

Pay: $24-$33 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and routine servicing of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, and replacing belts or components as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working condition
  • Identify root causes of unexpected breakdowns; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts; order and install replacement parts as needed
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines
  • Collaborate with department heads regarding new products and required modifications
  • Make necessary modifications and conduct test runs; consult with product manager regarding test results and adjustments
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, present to leadership, and participate in solution implementation
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational certificate in appropriate field (e.g., welding, maintenance, electrical) preferred
  • Ability to take and pass internal required testing

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Mechanically inclined with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Good computer literacy with ability to enter work records in appropriate program
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization; multi-lingual skills strongly preferred
  • Ability to handle and resolve issues efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, plan effectively, and maintain high attention to detail
  • Customer-centric attitude, high energy level, and sense of urgency

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work extended shifts (holidays, weekends, and/or extended) as business needs require
  • Ability to work in cold/humid or hot/dusty environments as needed
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, crawling, stooping, kneeling, etc., with the ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
