Overview
Americhem Inc. is hiring for the Dispersion Operator I – 3rd shift at our Concord, NC plant. Americhem is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of custom color concentrates. Our production operators specialize in setting up, operating, and tending extruding machines to process a variety of products that our customers use to manufacture a vast array of finished products.
Pay and Schedule
Pay: Starting at $18.00 but will pay more for experience
Shift: 3rd (9:00 PM to 7:00 AM; Monday–Thursday)
Position Requirements / Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production preferred.
- Knowledge & Skills: Fundamental knowledge of materials, methods, equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Fundamental knowledge of production processes and techniques for effective manufacture of products.
- Fundamental knowledge of compound formulation and ability to evaluate color (Hue, Chroma, and Shade).
- Fundamental knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service, including needs assessment and quality standards for services.
- Fundamental knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures that promote safety for personnel and property.
- Fundamental knowledge of quality controls and continuous improvement applications.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
- Computer literate with knowledge of information and data management systems, electronic equipment, and software (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Oracle).
- Valid driver’s license with reliable automobile transportation.
- Forklift certification.
Essential Duties
- Operates and understands all required compounding equipment, including scales, feeders, and mixing blenders, with guidance from senior staff.
- Accurately weighs ingredients using scales and gathers other equipment and ingredients to prepare specific batches with guidance.
- Follows and clarifies compounding formulations with proper identified ingredients with guidance.
- Cleans equipment for change-over and new batches with guidance.
- Verifies proper product identification on in-process containers with guidance.
