Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates thermo-plastic extruders and auxiliary equipment on the extruder line according to engineering specifications; makes immediate corrections where possible.
- Utilizes precision measuring instruments, performs tests, records pertinent information, and ensures quality standards are met.
- Determines appropriate changeover of tooling to ensure proper dimensions; monitors machines and processes, reporting irregularities for problem resolution.
- Performs material handling for assigned process.
- Documents, logs, and compiles reports as required and/or requested.
- Participates in area and process team projects and activities.
- Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.
Hose & Tubing Extrusion Machine Operator – Shape the Core of Critical Systems: At Parflex, Extrusion Machine Operators create the foundation of products that power high-stakes systems across the globe, from aerospace and defense to renewable energy and transportation.
- U.S. military vehicles like the JLTV and FMTV
- Advanced aircraft such as the F-35 Lightning II and C-130 Hercules
- Wind turbine braking systems and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles

You’ll work hands-on with advanced thermoplastics and fluoropolymers, monitoring quality and operating extrusion machinery that produces hose with exacting tolerances and world-class durability. Attention to detail and pride in quality are essential to delivering reliability.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
- HS diploma or GED required
- Machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge And Skills
- Mathematical aptitude and proficiency
- Keyboarding skills and basic MS Office familiarity
- Ability to operate forklift and manual/electric jack; training provided
- Measurement skills with precision tools
- Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot for process and product improvement
- Effective English verbal communication and listening skills
- Problem solving and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to prioritize and manage work projects
Physical Demands
- Standing for 8+ hours
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves
- Repetitive motions, manual dexterity for tubing and hose assembly
- Sorting by size, shape, and color; pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting
- Lift up to 45 pounds; color perception and ability to hear alarms
Work Environment
- Manufacturing plant with exposure to moving parts and equipment
Schedule, Location and Work Authorization
Location: 1717 Dufek Drive in Manitowoc, WI. Third shift hours are Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am, with flexible overtime. Training on first shift (Mon-Fri, 6am-2pm) for approximately 1-3 months before moving to 3rd shift.
