**Position:** Quality Control Technician – Floater; works all shifts as needed.

**Overview:** The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring NWF’s quality and safety standards on all finished products.

**Shift Differential:** Offered.

Essential Functions

  1. Evaluate finished products for quality and acceptability, performing all necessary analyses according to product specifications.
  2. Communicate product quality issues to Production Supervisors, Managers, QC Manager, and shipping/customer service staff.
  3. Log analysis results and batch information in the I-Series (AS400), maintaining documentation for compliance.
  4. Monitor line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
  5. Check metal detectors (CCP), magnets, and scales; perform critical control point & GMP audits.
  6. Assist in foreign material & product non-conformance investigations.
  7. Perform batch set-up checks, correct setups, and log discrepancies.
  8. Manage product holds and releases, including rejection forms with root cause and corrective actions.
  9. Check allergen cleanout effectiveness as needed.
  10. Perform Pre-Op audits, production scale checks, and calibrate lab equipment as scheduled.
  11. Collect micro samples and place micro hold products on hold.
  12. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the QC manager.
  13. Maintain retain sample area and control sample files.
  14. Follow all GMPs and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of quality control/assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Ability to operate quality control analysis equipment.
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication.
  • Mathematical skills, computer skills, and data processing skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds during shifts.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without assistance from NWF.
