**Position:** Quality Control Technician – Floater; works all shifts as needed.
**Overview:** The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring NWF’s quality and safety standards on all finished products.
**Shift Differential:** Offered.
Essential Functions
- Evaluate finished products for quality and acceptability, performing all necessary analyses according to product specifications.
- Communicate product quality issues to Production Supervisors, Managers, QC Manager, and shipping/customer service staff.
- Log analysis results and batch information in the I-Series (AS400), maintaining documentation for compliance.
- Monitor line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Check metal detectors (CCP), magnets, and scales; perform critical control point & GMP audits.
- Assist in foreign material & product non-conformance investigations.
- Perform batch set-up checks, correct setups, and log discrepancies.
- Manage product holds and releases, including rejection forms with root cause and corrective actions.
- Check allergen cleanout effectiveness as needed.
- Perform Pre-Op audits, production scale checks, and calibrate lab equipment as scheduled.
- Collect micro samples and place micro hold products on hold.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the QC manager.
- Maintain retain sample area and control sample files.
- Follow all GMPs and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of quality control/assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Ability to operate quality control analysis equipment.
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication.
- Mathematical skills, computer skills, and data processing skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds during shifts.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without assistance from NWF.
