Tearing Line Operator - 3rd Shift — Dalton, Georgia, United States, 30720

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for four different machines: Tearing Line #1, Tearing Line #2, Balers, and Blend Line.
  • Monitor quality of the fiber being torn by the two tearing lines.
  • Monitor the levels of fiber in the finished fiber bins (two bins for each of the two card lines).
  • Keep the work area and machines clean.
  • When all finished bins are full, run the fiber to the balers to be baled. The bales are tied with ropes and the bale ticket number is recorded on the Bale production sheet. Bales are stored in the warehouse for future use.
  • Must break down the machines when there is a problem; work with maintenance to maintain machines and troubleshoot.
  • The two operators rotate breaks, so during that time one operator is responsible for all tasks at one time.

  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be quality minded.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task.
  • Maintain a detailed downtime report (basic writing and math skills).
