AmeriCARE Pinellas is looking for a compassionate caregiver to join our growing team. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients. Caregivers will provide the most personalized in-home care possible one patient at a time. Our care team will continually work to promote independence, improve quality of life, share in joy, and help our clients stay safe and Happier@Home.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents (showering, bathing, dressing, eating).
- Remind clients to take prescribed medication.
- Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
- Assist with personal care and hygiene.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Complete client shopping or accompany them to successfully do so.
- Light housekeeping duties.
- Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Offer activities essential for daily living by assisting patients with meals and related tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting; eager to improve and continuously learn.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
- Compassionate and supportive demeanor.
- Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
- Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care (minimum 1 year).
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; experience as a Caregiver.
- Hoyer Lift experience (specific to client) is a plus.
