Overview

Manager Distribution Operations (3rd shift) at ADUSA Distribution. The role provides leadership for the distribution operations function, ensuring a safe and engaged team at all times. This role ensures the team delivers KPIs such as safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and service levels. Planning, execution, and optimization of operational activities are key responsibilities. Provides oversight to supervisory team to meet production standards. Handles daily issues and projects under the direction of the Operations Director. Partners proactively with all Distribution & Transportation teams to ensure the safety of all associates and timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and positive work environment, ensuring associates are treated fairly and consistently. Support a “Safety First” culture and ensure safe practices are employed, minimizing unsafe events and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Partner with Human Resources to prioritize and manage associate relations and needs.
  • Communicate with direct reports and align them to company values, goals, results, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee team performance and apply KPIs in day-to-day operations. Manage performance through coaching, feedback, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Delegate to Supervisors to develop production associates into a well-organized, motivated team.
  • Ensure local recruiting activities meet labor demand and support training and development of all new and existing associates.
  • Ensure schedules meet inbound/outbound volume demand.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and measure budgetary and operational goals. Maintain or reduce costs while improving productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate inventory flow in and out of the distribution center, meeting commitments to retail.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead plans with local and corporate teams.

  • Omnichannel Acumen — Understanding of eCommerce in retail planning.
  • Financial & Business Acumen — Understands business priorities and drivers.
  • Distribution Center Systems, Equipment, Automation & Technology — Applies knowledge to manage objectives and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Supply Chain experience with a BS/BA in a related field, or 7+ years of Supply Chain operations experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience overseeing 30+ associates.
  • High School Education or equivalent.

Knowledge

  • Familiar with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Seasoned knowledge of distribution practices.

Skills And Abilities

  • Customer focus, collaboration, communication, problem solving.
  • Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Other

  • Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures (−5 to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit) depending on department, for long periods.

Preferred Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience overseeing people leaders.
  • Food retail/manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
