Overview

Night Pharmacist position, 9pm-7:30am / Full Time / 35 Hours. The Night Pharmacist provides leadership, clinical, educational, informational, and distribution functions on the night shift. This role prioritizes workload and organizes the workflow of pharmacy technical personnel on the night shift, considering available resources. May conduct in-service programs for medical, pharmacy, and nursing staff; act as liaison between pharmacy services and other departments; participate in committee meetings as a department representative. Identifies performance improvement opportunities and recommends ways to improve clinical and distributive services. Proactively works to improve the medication process and, where applicable, uses effective patient education techniques to counsel patients and caregivers on drug therapy, adverse effects, compliance, appropriate use, handling, and administration. May respond to questions from patients regarding their medications and identify the requester’s actual drug information need.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy; active licensure in Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required within 90 days.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 6 months, if directly applicable to practice specialty.
  • One year of hospital experience and PGY1 residency preferred.
