The Courier performs both internal and external messenger services.

Qualifications And Requirements

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent

  • Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses: Valid State of Michigan Driver License

Essential Functions

  • Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department. Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
  • Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assists with dispatching duties for phone coverage.
