Overview
Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Shift: Monday through Friday with a day off in the week yet to be determined. Hours: 7 am to 6 pm.
This is a position for GIFA employees for upgrade for part-time employees within the GIFA location.
Minimum Education
High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
- Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
- Medical exam required in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
