Overview

Fitness & Athletics Attendant role at Troon. Provides service to Members and guests at the fitness center and resort pool, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Meets and greets all Members and guests who enter the amenity facility and provides outstanding service professionally and courteously.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and comfort of Members and guests while they are utilizing the Fitness Center and Resort Pool; assists Members and guests in the Fitness Center, familiarizes them with equipment and programming offerings, and ensures Member comfort in the Resort Pool. The role also includes laundry service and related public area cleanliness.
  • General Daily Operations / Member Services: greet Members and guests warmly, show up ready to serve, develop a rapport with Members, anticipate the needs of Members with repetitive requests, read and interpret safety rules and operation manuals, show initiative, listen effectively, and enforce club policies in all designated fitness & athletics areas (The Hub, Rendezvous Park, Turner Park).
  • Fitness Center responsibilities: knowledge of general use of all fitness equipment; greet Members by name; keep the Fitness Center clean and neatly organized; learn the names of new Members; explain fitness programming; ensure attendance of all group fitness classes; perform rounds and complete hourly sanitation/disinfection logs; assist Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors with setup for sessions and classes.
  • Resort Pool responsibilities: verify membership where applicable; open umbrellas and arrange cabanas and pool furniture; clean pool furniture and deck; sweep and wash the pool deck; monitor day’s weather and activities; manage trash removal on the pool deck.
  • Laundry/Public Areas & Locker Rooms: wash and fold towels and maintain towel inventory; notify Fitness & Athletics Manager when par levels are low; clean and maintain the screened patio and desk area; monitor and requisition locker room supplies and first aid kit as needed; keep work area clean and organized.
  • Other Common Responsibilities: approach Members, guests, and associates in a friendly, courteous, service-oriented manner; maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming; comply with brand standards and regulations; ensure the Hub is prepared for opening and closing; promote activities offered throughout the Venue; perform other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • High level of energy, initiative, enthusiasm, cooperation, and good judgment; discretion in handling information.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs (frequently up to 30 lbs and constantly up to 20 lbs); ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for extended periods.

Educational And Experience Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required, or willingness to become certified within the first 90 days.

Preferred Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year experience in a customer-facing luxury environment, preferably in a resort or club environment.

Working Conditions

  • Works indoors and outdoors; potential exposure to sharp equipment, chemicals, and solvents if safety procedures are not followed.
