Responsibilities
The Assistant Fitness Manager is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience personally and through Coach’s supervision. AFMs deliver great member service along with Fitness & Supplement revenue. They address member concerns, employee relations issues, and oversee scheduling and time-keeping activities. They communicate and enforce Company and Club policies and procedures. AFMs are responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals pertaining to Private Training and Supplements.
- Sell and conduct Private Training & Small Group Training with Members
- Assist members and encourage involvement in private training.
- Ensure accurate administration of client programs, supplement purchases, measurement tracking, and workout programs. Arrive on time, prepared and attentive for training appointments.
- Assist in revenue-generating activities, including complimentary workouts, supplement booths, body fat tables, seminars, workshops, etc.
- Sell training sessions, execute an effective prospecting strategy, conduct guest tours, and complete sales of staff when needed through the Turn-Over process.
- Achieve monthly revenue objectives related to fitness and supplements.
- Review daily club sales performance and individual employee performance statistics with the Fitness Manager and staff to identify issues and clarify actions to reach sales goals.
- Administer company policies as they relate to the sales process.
- Club Administration
- Work with the Fitness Manager to ensure coaches are productive, that revenue and service goals are communicated, and that the club attains daily, weekly and monthly financial goals, especially on weekends.
- Conduct monthly, weekly, and daily meetings with coaches to review performance and operations and provide direction and motivation.
- Handle member service matters such as tours, explaining services, signing members up for training agreements and appointments; mediate member issues in a timely manner.
- Perform administrative and housekeeping duties as needed.
- Alert Operations staff to repairs and maintenance needs; conduct daily facility walkthroughs.
- Supervise coach sales activities; review agreements and prepare daily paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and perform follow-up checks.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Personal Training techniques from assessment to program design.
- Ability to operate and adjust all fitness equipment.
- Knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, enthusiastic attitude.
- Customer service focus; responds professionally to requests from guests, members and staff.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; communicates clearly.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Computer proficiency with basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience & Certifications
- Minimum of one certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym
- Current CPR/AED certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Four-year degree in a related field recognized by UFC Gym (preferred)
- Minimum 6 months of related experience
- Experience in management/employee relations preferred
