Job Requirements: Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties for this job include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

• Read work orders and pick proper products.
• Maintain production area by ensuring rooms are emptied of finished products and stocked with pallets and cardboard.
• Unload incoming products and ensure proper paperwork is completed.
• Keep coolers and freezers clean.
• Follow oral instructions based on work orders.
• Open containers and load/unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Load materials into vehicles, securing them with strapping, bracing, or padding.
• Convey materials from storage or work site to designated areas.
• Count, weigh, and record units of materials; label cases or containers as needed.
• Attach tags or labels to materials and mark information on containers.
• Load trucks and operate industrial trucks or electric hoists.
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together.
• Remove samples of materials for laboratory analysis.
• Lift heavy objects manually or with equipment and clean work areas and machinery.
• Make simple adjustments or repairs to equipment.
• Assemble crates for products like machines or vehicles.
• Shovel loose materials into hoppers or containers.

Qualifications: Prefer previous experience operating a forklift. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
