Base pay range: $16.91/hr - $19.71/hr.

Location: Based in Portland, Oregon. Fred Meyer merged with The Kroger Company in 1998. Today, we serve Fred Meyer customers in over 120 stores throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska. Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Effective communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Any retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
• Ability to create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of grocery specials
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and manage dates
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide customers with fresh products
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
• Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks and illegal activity
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
