Overview

Nurse Practitioner – Highland Family Medicine, 891 - Highland Family Medicine, 777 S. Clinton Avenue, Rochester. Employment type: Full-Time (36 or 40 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • Direct patient care, coordination of clinical services and assurance of continuity of care, resident and other student education, and assisting in coordination of team functions.
  • Provide direct patient care to patients from neonate through geriatrics in accordance with community standards, Family Medicine protocols, procedures and guidelines, and professional Nurse Practitioner standards for advanced clinical practice.
  • Practice within the scope of New York State Nurse Practitioner regulations and, if DEA registered, Federal DEA prescriptive regulations.
  • Examine patients and prescribe treatment as indicated for acute and chronic health care, preventive and restorative care, and evaluation and care of physical, mental, and developmental function and capabilities.

Salary

$98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually. The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries within the range will be set based on factors including but not limited to market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.

Requirements

  1. Education: Fulfills the educational requirements to be a licensed NP in NYS; specialization in Family Practice highly desirable; consideration given for nurse practitioners with other specialty training.
  2. Experience: 3-5 years of RN experience prior to completing a Master’s program is desired. Minimum 1 year experience as a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory primary care setting is desired. 3-5 years as an FNP in ambulatory care highly desirable. Bilingual and teaching experience is desired.
  3. License/Certification Required: Licensure to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of New York; certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner with full prescriptive privileges; DEA registration to prescribe controlled substances; certification in Family Practice preferred from a national organization (e.g., American Nurses Association).
  4. Skills: Strong communication, independent clinical practice capability, and competency with gynecological procedures (e.g., IUD insertions, implantable contraceptive devices, injectable contraceptives, immunizations) and related duties, to be demonstrated within 1 month of hire.
