- Operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations to guarantee the timely and secure delivery of goods to designated destinations, minimizing delays and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle meets all safety and operational standards, while ensuring that cargo is properly secured and transported without damage or loss, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- The role requires operating vehicles over long distances, often resulting in extended hours on the road. Effectively managing fatigue while adhering to regulatory rest and driving hour limitations is a critical challenge. This requires maintaining focus and ensuring safety throughout the workday, while balancing time-sensitive delivery schedules and personal well-being.
- Operate trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Inspect trucks before and after trips to ensure they are safe and in proper working condition.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking oil, tires, brakes, and fuel.
- Ensure cargo is loaded securely and complies with safety standards.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor and adjust driving based on weather, traffic, and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including hours of service, fuel usage, and mileage.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to driving and vehicle operation.
- Ensure safe and legal operation by following traffic laws and company policies.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, when required.
- Handle and report any vehicle malfunctions or breakdowns immediately.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, or route changes.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as refueling, cleaning, and basic repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or at delivery sites.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork, such as bills of lading and delivery receipts, are completed accurately.
- Deliver goods on time, ensuring the quality and condition of the products.
- Monitor the vehicle’s condition, report maintenance issues, and ensure it is roadworthy.
- Adhere to company guidelines regarding fuel efficiency and driving best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, both inside and out.
- Follow instructions from supervisors, managers, and dispatch to complete deliveries effectively.
- Maintain communication with management and other drivers to coordinate logistics and troubleshoot problems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
- Stop any process that may jeopardize safety or service quality.
Requirements:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
