Carpenters/Finishers must possess an active SECRET clearance, a valid passport, and the ability to obtain appropriate work visas and other required documentation. It is preferred that individuals have experience working on previous OBO projects overseas. Responsibilities include, but not are limited to the following, (unless otherwise noted, all duties are performed regularly and/or frequently, depending on job tasks assigned for the given workday): Must have a basic understanding of commercial carpentry · Transfer any required materials from the SSA yard to the work area either by escorting local personnel or  Install metal stud framing, drywall, insulation, finishing & paint · Installation of hollow metal doors, frames & specialty hardware and wooden doors. Install broadloom carpet, carpet squares, wooden flooring & stone flooring · Install window shade pockets, window guides, and stone window sills · Install wooden wall base, stone wall base & rubber cove base · Install specialty wood paneling and sound-soak · Install composite roofing · Complete concrete floor repairs · Perform concrete formwork and concrete placement · Experience installing ceramic tile helpful · Experience installing office furniture helpful · Assist other crafts as necessary · 2+ years’ construction industry experience preferred · Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures · High school diploma/GED preferred · General knowledge of operating construction equipment and vehicles · Flexibility in working overseas · Understanding and adherence to local laws and customs in host country · Following all Government site security requirements to maintain eligibility to work on project site · PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions in accordance with applicable law, provided that the individual does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others when performing such essential functions.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, among other things, use hands to grasp and reach up with arms overhead, including manual dexterity to operate equipment, cut, pull wiring, and perform specialized skills. The employee must have the ability to regularly lift, carry, push or pull and move objects weighing up to approximately 50 pounds of weight without assistance. The employee may also need to occasionally life, carry, push or pull and move objects exceeding 50 pounds without assistance. The job imposes a substantial demand for physical agility and mobility, including the ability to maneuver safely throughout the work site. This position will require the use of personal protective equipment during various tasks and activities. Environmental Demands: The position entails working on a busy construction site overseas, generally away from the employee’s family, and in countries whose laws and social norms may be much more restrictive than in the United States, with the potential for occasional periods of social unrest, military action, interruption of normal services such as electricity and water, natural disasters, and the like.
