Overview
A client of Insight Global is looking for a remote accountant to support their financial operations within a nonprofit healthcare and academic environment. This accountant will play a key role in managing accounting tasks with a focus on foundation-based and philanthropic financial activity. They need to have an understanding and background of basic accounting principles. This role focuses on nonprofit accounting and day to day work might include reconciliation, month end close, journal entries, receivables, referral tracking, and ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is eager to grow into leadership, and offers flexibility and adaptability on being able to pivot to different ad hoc assignments. This position is remote but must sit in NC ideally in Winston-Salem and Charlotte area.

Responsibilities
- Support financial operations in a nonprofit healthcare and academic environment with emphasis on foundation-based and philanthropic activity.
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks such as reconciliation, month-end close, journal entries, receivables, and referral tracking.
- Prepare financial documentation for review by C-level executives, including deans and clinical leaders.
- Engage in ad hoc projects and contribute to institutional decision-making with high visibility.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting within university, hospital system, government system, medical government, clinical research or non-profit spaces
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA or currently in process to get CPA
- Excel proficiency – vlookups, xlookups, pivot tables and ability to reconcile within excel
- Workday experience
