We are looking for: An experienced Instrumentation and Electrical Technician for our Spartanburg, SC facility.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills including failure investigation, focused upon electrical and instrumentation.
  • General maintenance.
  • Electrical system design and function, and electrical code requirements.
  • Electrical wire, communication wire, electrical equipment installation; conduit, grounding and bonding, wiring, and electrical equipment installation.
  • Instrumentation equipment design, application, repair, calibration, installation, certification and functional limitations.
  • PLC, DCS, Triconnex, controller layout, and structure including I/O module installation and configuration.
  • Read and understand single line diagrams, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, motor control centers and electrical panel layouts, conduit runs, maintenance repair manuals and specification sheets.
  • Familiar with the common types of electrical devices that operate plant equipment (motors, starters, control panels, circuit breakers, push button switches, grounding, lighting, regulators, relays, etc.).
  • Operations of test instruments used to calibrate plant equipment.
  • ISO 9000 application of instrument calibration and record keeping requirements.
  • Use of maintenance tools, machinery and equipment for facility maintenance.
  • General awareness in pipe fitting, millwright, rigging, masonry, fabrication, and machining disciplines.
  • Fabricating simple parts (e.g. bracing, bollards, holders, railings, brackets).
  • Risk assessment and reduction processes.
  • Job planning, scheduling and materials acquisition including contractor planning and coordination.
  • Training techniques and procedure development.
  • I/E MIMM program management design and implementation.
  • Computer skills: managing maintenance work orders on a CMMS, maintaining PM schedules, managing email communication, and utilizing plant maintenance documentation systems.
  • Selecting and requesting parts from the plant CMMS.
  • Decipher and learn various programming of electrical and instrumentation devices used in process control at the site.
  • Lead contractors in job assignments, through training, oversight, and direction.
  • Prepare sketches, read and understand blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specification sheets for electrical and mechanical components and equipment.
  • Layout, measure, cut conduit and fabricate structural steel framing to support electrical instruments and panels.
  • Know and understand the plant’s fire protection systems, process systems, computer systems, and instrument calibrations; carry out ISO instrumentation procedures and maintain their records.

You will bring

  • A minimum of 7-10 years on-the-job experience in the electrical/instrumentation field. Additional experience may substitute for the associate’s degree.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of safety and safe work practices, including knowledge of process safety, personal safety and plant risk management procedures.
  • Knowledge of general and specific maintenance disciplines typically gained through a technical associate degree in mechanical disciplines.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $XXX,XXX to $XXX,XXX per year (optional: $XX to $XX per hour). Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
