Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both commercial and industrial electrical work, demonstrating proficiency in various electrical systems and components.

This role involves working on construction sites, performing renovations, and ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The successful candidate will be adept at reading blueprints and schematics, as well as utilizing hand tools and power tools effectively.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electricians License.
  • Successful completion of the State of Oregon Journeyman Electrician Training program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot and optimize electrical systems.
  • Conduct high voltage and low voltage electrical work as required.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and ohmmeters to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Perform renovation tasks that require electrical expertise.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician is required.

  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage applications.
  • Experience in construction site environments is essential.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively.
  • Previous maintenance person experience or frame carpentry skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of the State of Oregon Journeyman Electrician Training program.
  • Minimum of five years, with demonstrated satisfactory skills and abilities in that position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to legibly write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to communicate effectively in one on one situations.
