Job Title: Electrician II

Job Summary

A successful candidate will be required to assist and when possible work solo on the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits, communicating, recording and alarm systems under the guidance of a Level 1 Electrician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist and when possible work solo on the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits, communicating, recording and alarm systems under the guidance of a Level 1 Electrician
  • Use various types of testing equipment to locate and correct malfunctions
  • Work on energized circuits when required (Under NFPA Safety Guidelines)
  • May make functional tests to determine that the electricity powered or electrically controlled machines or equipment operate properly after installation or repair
  • Determine horsepower requirements, line loads, material requirements, etc.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasking on all electrical utilities and equipment
  • May be assigned to specialized work within the classification
  • Will be assisted by Level 1 Electrician as needed and have completed work verified by supervisor or Level 1 Electrician
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies, tools and equipment
  • Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work
  • Complete Safety Training requirements

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma and must be successfully enrolled in and/or completed accredited technical school
  • One to Three (3) years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Achieved Fork truck and aerial lift equipment certification or ability to obtain
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to log work orders; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical situations, and read a tape measure
  • Must be able to utilize mobile communication devices (i.e., iPad, Phone, and email)
  • Familiar with Lock Out Tag Out procedures

Physical Demands

  • Strength and Endurance: lifting heavy equipment and materials, carrying tools, and working in awkward positions
  • Manual Dexterity: handling small components, wiring, and tools with precision
  • Mobility and Agility: climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, bending, kneeling, and crouching
  • Standing and Movement: prolonged standing and frequent movement within a job site
  • Working at Heights: may work on scaffolding or elevated platforms
  • Lifting and Carrying: moving equipment and materials, up to 50+ pounds
  • Vision and Hearing: reading diagrams and following safety protocols
  • Safety Protocols: following PPE usage and safe work habits
  • Tolerance to Environmental Conditions: varying temperatures, dust, noise, confined spaces
  • Communication: effective communication with team members, supervisors, and clients
