Since 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness. AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. Our vision is to live in a world that is just and without homelessness. We believe that homelessness is an issue that can be solved through access to quality health care, adequate and affordable housing, and a living wage.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to fill our Human Resources Generalist position! The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day HR administrative process and function at AHCH. This position reports to the HR Coordinator and works with a team of four HR staff to provide comprehensive human resources support to over 100 employees.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee licensing, credentialing, and privileging process
  • May attend interviews as needed
  • Administer employee benefits
  • Maintain employee files
  • Schedule meetings and interviews
  • Assist Human Resources Coordinator and Chief Human Resources Officer with trainings
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Provide oversight of employee benefits enrollment/disenrollment processes including aspects that intersect with Finance
  • Maintain and oversee employee data in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Track and maintain staff databases outside of HRIS including training, required vaccines/medical tests, and benefits enrollment
  • Must comply with all AHCH policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience
  • One year experience in general administrative assistance and/or human resources
  • Ability to thrive in a complex non-profit healthcare setting
  • Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate HR processes to employees
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of HR-specific Generalist or Administrative work experience
  • Experience with clinical credentialing and privileging
  • SHRM or HRCI certification
